Instagram has been updating its desktop browser app regularly since it introduced uploading last year. According to TechCrunch, the newest update brings a redesigned user interface that makes better use of desktop computers than the mobile app did.
The change, along with Instagram’s brand-new in-app scheduler, was announced by Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri yesterday. He explained in a video that they worked hard to create Instagram the best online experience possible because they are aware that many people use the web to multitask. Now optimized for usage on high-resolution displays, it’s more streamlined, quicker, and simpler to navigate than ever before.
A new side rail that collapses to icons depending on screen size houses the home, search, explore, messages, and notifications menus, as illustrated above. At the very top, you can read the latest stories, while to the right, you can access your profile, personalized recommendations, and more. The left navigation bar stays in place regardless of what you choose, making it easier and faster to get where you need to go.
A dedicated iPad app has yet to be released, but the updated web design makes Instagram more user-friendly. This was first noted by 9to5Mac. A dedicated Instagram app for iPad was apparently low on Mosseri’s list of priorities earlier this year. At least now you can get a more satisfying experience from the web-based variant.
Instagram’s Webpage Layout Has Been Updated
Today, Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri unveiled a number of upcoming updates, including a completely redesigned website. Due to the growing popularity of Instagram’s web platform, the company has unveiled a brand-new design for Instagram.com.

Scheduled posts, which are primarily designed for creators but are open to everyone, were also revealed today by Instagram. Instagrammers now have the choice to prearrange their posts up to 75 days in advance.
