The Ideapad Flex 3i Chromebook With the Most Recent Intel N-series CPU: Lenovo has released a new member of the Flex Chromebook family. The computer manufacturer has introduced the first ChromeOS laptop to use Intel’s newest N-series processors. It’s with these chips from the Alder Lake CPU family that Intel finally abandons the infamous Celeron and Pentium names. While the N-series chips are still low-powered and efficiency-focused, the higher-end CPUs will have up to 8 cores. Since our understanding of these chips is currently limited, we will move on to the information we do have. Chromebook from Lenovo, the IdeaPad Flex 3i.
The 12.2″ 16:10 display on the new Flex 3i is a change from Lenovo’s usual products, but the fact that this Chromebook’s screen actually pumps out 300 nits of brightness is a nice surprise. We’d like to see more companies adopt this practice in their affordable mid-range products. Since it’s called a “Flex,” it should come as no surprise that this Chromebook is a convertible with a touchscreen.

Lenovo claims that the battery life of this ChromeOS 2-in-1 may last for up to 12 hours thanks to Intel’s new N-series CPUs, which have all efficiency cores and no power cores. When we get our review unit, we’ll have to put that to the test, for sure. I’ll be satisfied if I can get 9-10 hours of regular use out of it. An optional illuminated keyboard and TÜV Rheinland’s reduced blue light certification were also included.
The Flex 3i has two USB-A ports, one USB-C port, one HDMI port, and a MicroSD card slot on its exterior. There is a jack for headphones, thus the answer is yes. The new IdeaPad Chromebook features upgraded wireless connectivity thanks to Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2. It also has dual speakers tuned by MaxxAudio and a 1080P webcam with a privacy shutter.
The Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 3i Chromebook will be available in Cloud Grey and Abyss Blue, with 4GB/64GB and 8GB/128GB memory configurations. The Flex 3i’s base pricing of $349.99 will go into effect when it goes on sale in May of 2023. As soon as we get our hands on one, we’ll let you know how it compares to the other Flex models.
