A fresh, more thorough leak claims the Pixel 7 Pro’s camera could at least see major enhancements, contradicting previous leaks that stated the phone wouldn’t be an upgrade over the Pixel 6 Pro.
The 5x optical zoom was not previously known, but it was included in a comprehensive, official list of specifications that was published by the Google News Telegram Channel(opens in new tab) (through leaker) Yogesh Brar(opens in new tab) and Phone Arena(opens in new tab).
If this spec sheet leak is accurate, the Pixel 7 Pro will have an optical zoom that is greater than that of the Google Pixel 6 Pro (4x) and most other phones (excluding the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, which has a 10x magnification).
Digital zoom is also touted as being increased to 30x from 20x on the Pixel 6 Pro.
This list of features, which was reportedly first spotted on the website of a Taiwanese mobile operator, also reportedly mentions new camera modes, such as Movie Motion Blur, which, as the name suggests, supposedly adds a blurry effect to videos, perhaps like the Cinematic Mode on the iPhone, and Macro Focus, which can provide better macro shots.
Movie Motion Blur is also mentioned as a feature for the regular Pixel 7, but all the other aspects seem to be specific to the Pixel 7 Pro.
Other than that, we’ve heard it all before; the phones appear to have the same specifications as the Pixel 6 line, with the exception of rumors of Face Unlock, which was absent from previous devices but has since been rumored.
For the time being, we’d be wise to treat all of this with a healthy dose of skepticism; nevertheless, the truth will soon be revealed when the official debut of the Pixel 7 range on October 6.

An in-depth look at a top mobile camera contender.
If Google implements these changes, the Pixel 7 Pro is likely to score even higher than the Google Pixel 6 Pro on our list of the best camera phones.
Will it be prominently displayed? Competition from the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and the iPhone 14 Pro series is fierce, so it’s impossible to say how successful it will be. However, it stands a good chance, especially if the phone’s other cameras improve along with it. evident from a set of requirements.
Upgrades to the phone’s camera may come in the form of software updates, or they may be brought about by the inclusion of the latest Tensor G2 chipset.
As a result, the sensors won’t appear to alter much, with the primary camera continuing at 50 megapixels, the ultra-wide camera at 12 megapixels, and the telephoto camera at 48 megapixels, but the capabilities may be substantially enhanced.
It remains to be seen if this can compete with the Galaxy S22 Ultra’s excellent zoom capabilities or the iPhone 14 Pro Max’s powerful new 48MP camera.
